On the occasion of its annual summit, the SEEP Network awarded the prize of best microfinance network for the year 2011 to the regional network REDCAMIF.
The Microfinance network for Central America and the Caribbean (REDCAMIF) is a long term partner of ADA and they have worked together on a number of projects aimed at reinforcing the microfinance sector in Central America in terms of capacity building, transparency and institutional development. It brings together seven national networks of Central America and the Dominican Republic, serving a total of one million clients through its members.
65 microfinance networks were competing for this title, which gives the Central American network further incentive to keep working towards the improvement of the quality of life for the low-income populations within the region. Juan José Lagos, the president of REDCAMIF, declared “This prize makes us feel very proud and confirms the reputation our organisation has acquired around the world thanks to its work, its innovation capacity, its impact and the role it plays in the performance and development of microfinance within the region.”
