Virtual debates are organised by ADA in order to stimulate exchanges between the actors of the microfinance sector.The exchanges take place via an online forum created in collaboration with the European Microfinance Platform (e-MFP).
Each debate is based on an edition of the ADA Discussion Paper publication.

ADA's second virtual debate was organised on March 2011 within 225 registration mainly from professionals of the microfinance sector. The second virtual debate was based on the subject of the ADA Discussion Paper n°2.
ADA invites microfinance experts, researcher, students or anyone who might be interested to pronounce their opinions on various issues related to microfinance through its virtual debates.
1st virtual debate: proposals for future action
The 1st ADA virtual debate was on the subject of the ADA Discussion Paper No.1, entitled “Does foreign ownership in microfinance interfere with local development?”
150 participants have exchanged on this issue via e-mail. At the outcome of the first virtual debate, the Follow-up Paper No.1 summarized the key points raised by the different participants and formulated some proposals for future action:
1) To Identify microfinance actors ready to participate in the activities of the action group “Making Microfinance Investments Responsible” (MIR) and
2) To create an online forum in order to foster the exchange between MFIs and microfinance investors.
