MFI PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

 

The training workshop on “Financial Performance Indicators for Microfinance Institutions” is intended to raise MFI managers’ awareness of the importance of regularly monitoring the financial soundness of their institution.The training, which is organised in southern countries, allows participants to familiarise themselves with the calculation, interpretation and interdependence of the principal performance indicators, based on real data. The indicators studied refer to MFI portfolio quality, effectiveness, productivity and profitability.

Our latest workshops

Nicaragua (in collaboration with REDCAMIF, a network of networks in Central America): 10 MFIs in Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala and Costa Rica and the Directors of their respective national associations participated in a two-day workshop. A day of  training of trainers was also organised to anable replication in each country.

Cambodia (in collaboration with the Cambodian Microfinance Association, CMA): 34 participants from 16 Cambodian and Vietnamese institutions and 2 microfinance associations. (February 2007)

Ghana (in collaboration with the Belgian NGO BRS): 19 participants from 10 rural banks in the North and Northeast of the country. (January 2007)

Kenya (in collaboration with K-Rep Advisory Services, a microfinance consulting firm): 19 participants from 19 East African institutions: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Zimbabwe. (November 2006)

Since 2003, more than 120 MFIs in Africa, Asia and Latin America have received financial training on “Financial Performance Indicators for Microfinance Institutions”.
